The Movement From I to We
There are many people who know inside right now that we are going through a major transformation. One key aspect of this transformation is the movement from I to We. The ‘we space’ is the space in which we discover what intimacy and true connection really are.
Intimacy is not the same as closeness. When we are close, we feel known, secure, familiar and safe. Intimacy is another land. In the open space of intimacy we discover each other, we meet each other, for the first time. And we meet ourselves in the same way.
The nature of the we space creates a field for deep transformation. It dissolves the walls around the heart and empowers you to take responsibility for your own experience, moment to moment. It allows you to step inside my world, to take me in, just as I am. And it allows you to be received in the same way, by me.
Intimacy, authentic connection, is not a luxury. The we space is an essential part of our human evolution. The need to be seen, accepted and recognized as you are is a primal force in human beings. Being seen and held in this way allows you to become intimate with parts of your own being that you may never have acknowledged before. We all carry gifts and capacities that want to be given. And we all carry deep vulnerabilities and walled-off places that want to be held in the loving space of presence.
When you are truly intimate with me, you are fully yourself, and at the same time, you no longer hold yourself separate from me. This is the magic of the we space, the shared field of presence. Awakening to it changes the way you live. Interconnection becomes a living experience, not just an idea. The restoration of your deep connection with nature and with the invisible world is what this intimacy brings you as well.
When we are connected in the living space of presence, I am here, in this moment, open to my own experience, and open to you. I don’t know who you are, because whatever I think or know is from the past. I don’t know who I am, because whatever I think about myself is only an image or an idea. I don’t have a fixed idea about how I want you to be. I am discovering who you are from moment to moment.
Practices in this workshop will happen in dyads, triads, small groups and in the larger group. The actual exercises include energy work and movement, dialogue, shared inquiry, and attunement exercises.
